Contents page development

This is my first draft of my magazine's contents page. I took inspuiration from NME's layout when creating this and I like the initial outcome however I think it can be improved for example differents text styles and a neater layout. These four variations of contents pages show my progression to my final outcome.

Response to feedback

I have taken everything said on board as a lot of it I was already aware of for example I was meaning to add the barcode and price. It also mentioned  the lack of post so I will try and break my work up more in the future.

Feedback

Blog is very organised and easy to look at. The amount of posts is good and lots of pictures are included.
The colour scheme looks very good and the font is consistant which works well. The image also works well with the magazine as a whole.
More stories/ pull quotes need to be added. The masthead needs to be bolder. Barcode/date and price need to be added

Overall - Your blog is overall good and a lot of analysis and detail is used and its full of lots of posts and your genre is made very clear.

Strengths - It's a very conventional front cover and has a good use of pull quotes and features making the magazine look appealing to the target audience. House style is very good tieing all the writing together and all the font and writing is readable.

Development - could put a bar code, date and price on it and could do with some of the blank space filling up.
Feedback by Lauren Wilson:

Overall, the blog is quite lacking in posts. Due to there only being nine of them, this excluding the two feedback posts. For the amount of posts, the quality of the work is actually quite high.

The colour scheme on the final front cover for the magazine, is nice and eye catching. This meaning it can attract the audience well, so well done on that. The masthead is also nice and bold against the background, and the main image.

The front cover could do with some more items being placed on it, such as; a barcode, a price tag, and also the date. Also the use of photoshop skills are slightly lacking on the "Leeds and Reading logo", due to part of the logo looking eroded, and part of the 'g' on the top row being missing. Some of the font on the page could also do with being more entertaining, and fun to look at.

I like how in detail you have gone with your research on your genre and have captured what needs to bhe on an indie rock magazine. I also like the wide variety of pictures you have took to potentially use on your front cover. I think you could do a couple more posts on inspiration of where your ideas came from to fill out your blog a little more but overall it is a lot of good research.

The strengths of your front cover is I like the fact you have used the paper background which brings out your headings and sell lines and I can read the sell lines easily and the colours used attract you to the front cover straight away.

I dont think a lot needs to be done to your final draft but maybe you could play around with the heading making it stretch to fit the top and play around with your left and right thirds but overall I really like the front cover and it captures the indie rock look.
